Privacy Notice
This notice explains what personal information Matthew Rizzo Running Coaching collects, why, and the choices you have.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Matthew Rizzo of Cambridge, Massachusetts ("Matthew Rizzo Running Coaching," "we," "us") is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. You can reach us at mpr82@georgetown.edu or (914) 450-9373.
2. Information we collect
- Contact details you give us, such as your name, email address and phone number
- Questionnaire answers about your goals, current fitness, availability and background
- Liability release details, including participant name, date of birth, emergency contact name, phone and relationship, and your typed signature
- Coaching records, such as training plans and feedback, once you become a client
- Payment information is collected and processed by Stripe, our payment processor; we do not receive or store your full card details
- Technical data, such as your IP address and browser type, which our hosting provider may log for security
3. How we use information and our legal basis
- To respond to your inquiry and provide coaching, including building your training plan (contract performance)
- To process purchases, trials and subscriptions (contract performance, handled by Stripe)
- To keep records of signed liability releases for safety and legal reasons (legitimate interests and legal obligation)
- To keep the website secure and prevent misuse (legitimate interests)
- To improve the service based on aggregate feedback (legitimate interests)
- To contact you about coaching you asked about (consent, which you can withdraw at any time)
4. Who we share information with
- Service providers that host the website and database and help us operate it securely
- Stripe, our payment processor, which handles checkout, payments, tax calculation and invoicing for purchases
- Professional advisers, such as legal or accounting support, where necessary
- Authorities, where required by law
We never sell your personal information.
5. How long we keep information
Questionnaire answers and contact requests are kept for up to 24 months if you do not become a client, or while you remain a client. Signed liability releases are kept for at least 3 years after the end of coaching for safety and legal reasons. When information is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymized.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, restrict or object to its use, get a portable copy, or withdraw consent. We respond within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA, you also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority. Email mpr82@georgetown.edu to exercise any right.
7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encrypted connections, access controls, and a private, code-protected area for records, to protect your information.
8. Cookies
This website uses only essential cookies needed to keep the site working and secure. We do not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies. You can block cookies in your browser settings, though the site may not function correctly without them.
9. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on this page.
